Ken Harris received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1985 (BA – Political Science). Mr. Harris obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1988. Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Harris joined the law firm of Wishart, Norris, Henninger & Pittman in Charlotte, North Carolina. While there, his practice focused on Immigration Law and Plaintiff’s Litigation in Tort and Worker’s Compensation matters. In 1990, Mr. Harris joined the law firm of Hoover & Williams, P.A. where he continued to focus on plaintiff’s litigation in Tort and Worker’s Compensation matters. Mr. Harris co-founded the law firm of Harris & Drummond in 1992 where he continued to participate in plaintiff’s litigation. Mr. Harris co-founded the former Todd, Parham, Harris & Dixon, PLLC in 1995. In 1998, Mr. Harris established his firm as a sole practitioner practicing as KEN HARRIS & ASSOCIATES.
In November of 1992, Ebony Magazine in its 50th Anniversary Issue, named Attorney Harris as one of its 50 Leaders of Tomorrow. The honor continued Harris’ recognition as a positive role model with a continuous drive toward accomplishing, not only individual goals, but also the many diverse objectives of his clients. Harris continues to strive for excellence in his practice. Harris emphasizes a practice in Personal Injury, Worker’s Compensation Law and Traffic/Criminal Law while also representing numerous athletes and entertainers.
Attorney Harris has successfully litigated many cases in North Carolina and numerous important cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals including Bennish v. N. C. Dance Theater, Sanhueza v. Liberty Steel Erectors, and Martin v. Cummins South, Inc.
Ken has long fought for the rights of those injured in workers compensation, premises liability and automobile accidents. In addition, Harris represents patients injured as the result of the negligence of physicians. Harris’s skillful legal representation for his clients has resulted in many successful resolutions, including settlements based on permanent and total disability. In 2004, Harris along with co-counsel obtained one of the largest medical malpractice settlements of the year.
